— Berkeley police arrested a man Tuesday after he posted a threatening message on social media, police said.
The suspect, who police identified as James R. Taylor, posted on Facebook that he would kill the locksmith who sold his electric locksmith service, according to a police statement.
Taylor had been an electrician for the locksmart since March.
Officers contacted Taylor, who told them he had been contacted by a customer in California who was worried about him, the statement said.
The customer was the locksmaster of Taylor’s locksmith business.
Police said they contacted Taylor to discuss his concerns.
Taylor told them that he was aware that a customer had contacted him about his electric lockmith service and had contacted a locksmith on Facebook.
Taylor told police he was not involved in the Facebook posting and that the company had told him not to post the threatening message, according the statement.
