The new auto-locking system from Locksmith New Orleans is making its debut at this year’s Auto Show.
While the system’s new locksmiths are supposed to be the first to test it out, they aren’t yet on site.
So, while Locksport New Orleans will be able to check your lock out, its doors will be locked behind a curtain.
The system, which debuted at this years New York Auto Show, uses an ultrasonic scanner to detect when a lock is being pulled or released, and will use a pair of Bluetooth sensors to detect the sound and vibration from your car.
The ultrasonic system scans for any changes in pressure and motion in your car as well as the ambient sound, which is then converted into an image of the lock being pulled.
You’ll need to tap a sensor at the top of the device to see the results, but once you’ve found the lock you want, you can then unlock it using a series of buttons on the lock’s side.
The new system is expected to be installed by the end of the year, but if you don’t want to wait that long, Locksports will also be offering a “limited time” service for those who want to keep the system as an option for a short period of time.
The Locksphere will be available at select dealers in the United States, including Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ford, GM, Hyundai, Hyundai Kia, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, and Volkswagen.
