A new device is coming out with the same name as one that’s already on the market and it’s coming with a price tag that’s far less than the likes of the locksmith mobile.
The Smart Lock is the brainchild of Australian locksmith company SmartLock, and it has been dubbed a “home security product”.
It can be purchased on Amazon for $1.49 and the company is also offering the device for $149.99, but that price is likely to go up significantly once the device is in the hands of customers.
In fact, it’s the cheapest device we’ve seen yet, but we’ve been keeping our eye on its price tag as we tried to get our hands on the device.
A quick check with the Amazon listing showed the device was $149 in Australia, which is quite a bargain.
That price will go up as SmartLock and its partners add additional features to the device, and the number of locks can be configured to any of the existing security protocols, from HomeKit to HID to Secure Element.
To make the Smart Lock even more attractive, the company also added an option to add a PIN or a passcode to the end of the device’s power cord to protect against hackers and other bad guys.
The device is available for purchase on Amazon from November 17.
